The B&W

“I don’t think that it exists a contrast between black & white and color, in photography as well as in any other form of art. B&W and color represent different forms of visual expression that we can intentionally chose to propose our point of view on a specific scene or moment.

Summarizing the opinions of some eminent photographers, as Elliot Erwitt and Joel Meyerowitz, the use of color is suitable for descriptive works, while the B&W better fits with interpretative photography. To me, this means that the B&W lets the observers use their imagination to develop their own story just looking to an image, thus the B&W offers a larger range of freedom than color. The use of colors gives an important amount of information that makes the image more legible and quickly comprehensible for the observer ; on the other hand, B&W images need more time to be read and to try to obtain some information that, because of the absence of colors, are often inaccessible, thus obliging the reader to develop his/her own interpretation of the scene. The aim of our B&W projects is not to state that B&W is better or more artistic than color, which was a common opinion in 60’s and early 70’s.

The aim of our projects is just to put in light a form of visual expression that recently has been partially neglected, with the diffusion of social networks and smartphones that have contaminated the visual language with rapidity and consumerism germs.”

URANUS

Uranus hovers over Oceanus, searching for Gaia. He adorned himself for her with his fabulous celestial cloak of clouds. He will discard it when he finds her, transforming it into a fertilizing rain. From the grandeur of this encounter, a new Titan will emerge.

HONEYMOON

Marriage joins two spirits.
The honeymoon plants a seed for love to grow.
Celebrating this spiritual union, we leave caution to the wind and engorge ourselves in the delight of one another.
It is a time of adventure and discovery with the door to acceptance wide open.
A schoolroom of passion fixes memories of what is possible.
We travel together, sharing new experiences in the unknown land of soul melding.
Done well, this time sets the tone for a union of significance and a lifetime of intimate meaningfulness.

HOME

Where the heart lives.
Those black-and-white moments captured over time create a collage of a life well lived.

Within each frame, there is a piece of love.
These are sacred shared moments that make a house a home.
Where love abides, families dwell in delight.

HISTORY

A Young French Noble 1715–1740
 A French Rococo court portrait
Sash: Cordon bleu style, referencing the Order of the Holy Spirit
A young French noble of high rank, portrayed ceremonially
Artist: Follower of Hyacinthe Rigaud (not Largillière)

He stands in the ceremonial splendor of early eighteenth-century France, wrapped in crimson velvet and gold embroidery, a young noble shaped by the elegance and expectations of the Louis XV court.

The softness in his expression reveals someone still discovering who he is beneath the symbols he wears.
We can sense the quiet hum of an inner life preparing to unfold. He stands not only as an heir to privilege but as a young soul at the threshold of becoming, learning to navigate the roles placed upon him while something deeper waits to emerge.

Though his name is lost, his presence remains. He invites us to remember our own moments of stepping into expectations, our own journeys of finding awareness beneath identity.
