Exposició 55 Urnes per la Llibertat - Girona 2019
This exhibition shows the work of fifty-five artists who, with their creation, make visible a cry and a commitment in defense of freedom and democracy. On October 1 in Catalonia, a whole village was united to peacefully exercise their right to vote. After this referendum, the polls continue to have life, in this case artistic life thanks to the initiative of the Catalan Solidarity Committee of Northern Catalonia who organized the exhibition and made the project possible. Each artist has arranged a ballot box for the 1-O referendum to create it and give expression to his voice. The 55 plastic enclosures have been mediated by creators of various disciplines that have been inspired by the symbolic power of the historic election day and the unusual police repression suffered by hundreds of people when they tried to deposit their vote.
